How your score works
Your Home Health Score (0–100) is a weighted composite across three environmental categories: air, water, and soil quality. Each category is scored independently using your property's address data and regional environmental records.

From inferred to lab-confirmed
A quiz-only score is a risk estimate, directional and useful, but built on proxies. When you add certified lab results from a Nestwell test kit, your score upgrades from inferred to lab-confirmed: grounded in measurements from your specific home, not regional averages. Lab results can surface issues the regional data couldn't catch.

You get a personalized report that explains what we found, what it means in plain language, and what's worth acting on first. If a category warrants a closer look, we'll recommend a specific test kit from our curated marketplace.
Once your test results come back, your virtual walkthrough with a Nestwell expert puts the data in context — what your results actually mean, what's most important to address, and how to act on them.

Where does the data come from?
Your initial Nestwell Score draws on trusted public data tied to your address — at the neighborhood and ZIP code level. We pull from sources like the EPA, the Environmental Working Group (EWG), and property data providers to build a baseline picture of what's likely happening in and around your home. We're constantly updating our data sources to provide the most up to date and credible information.
That baseline tells you what's typical for your area — water quality, air quality, environmental risks, and more. It's a strong starting point, but it's still a regional view.
To go from outdoor and area-level data to what's actually happening inside your home, we partner with SimpleLab, a trusted lab, for at-home testing kits. When your report flags a category worth confirming, our kits give you lab-grade results specific to your home — not just your neighborhood.
That combination — public data for the baseline, lab testing for the specifics — is how we move from "homes like yours" to "your home."
How long does it take to get my report?
Your initial Nestwell report is ready in a few minutes — as soon as you finish your intake. You'll see your Nestwell Score, your risk signal across each category, and your top recommended next steps right away.
If your report flags a category worth testing, lab results from your test kits typically come back in 3–7 days, depending on the kit you've selected and shipping time.
Once your results are in, you can schedule your virtual walkthrough with a Nestwell expert to make sense of the data and build your plan.

Your virtual walkthrough is a 30-minute video session with a Nestwell home health expert, scheduled after your test kit results come back. The walkthrough is designed to help you make sense of your testing data — not just see numbers, but understand what they mean for your home and what to do about them.
Before the call, your expert has already reviewed your intake, your report, and your lab results — so you spend the time on what matters.
Together you'll:

- Translate numbers into priorities — what to address first vs. what's not urgent
- Match each priority to a concrete next step — a DIY fix, a product swap, or a professional service
